About Sig Sauer

Sig Sauer is a renowned firearms manufacturer with a rich history that can be traced back to the Swiss Wagon Factory, established in 1853 in Switzerland.

However, it wasn't until 1860 that their factory was transformed into a firearms manufacturing facility, and the name "Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaft" (SIG) was adopted.

SIG's early years were marked by innovative firearm designs, and thanks to the Schmidt-Rubin, the world's first mass-produced bolt-action rifle, the company quickly gained a reputation for precision engineering and quality craftsmanship.

Over time, SIG continued to expand its product line and in the 1970s, introduced the Sig Sauer P220. This semi-automatic pistol was chambered in .45 ACP and quickly gained recognition for its exceptional reliability, accuracy, and safety features.

Soon after its release, the Sig Sauer P220 became the official sidearm of numerous law enforcement agencies and military units worldwide.

The P220's success also paved the way for developing a comprehensive line of Sig Sauer pistols.

In the late 1980s, SIG partnered with German firearms manufacturer J.P. Sauer & Sohn, creating Sig Sauer GmbH. This collaboration combined SIG's expertise in firearms manufacturing with Sauer's legacy of producing high-quality hunting rifles and shotguns.

Today, Sig Sauer continues to innovate and expand its offerings.

Their firearms are recognized and trusted globally by military, law enforcement, and civilian shooters for their commitment to precision, quality, and innovation.
