About Barnes Bullets and Ammunition

Barnes Bullets was founded in 1932 by Fred Barnes, who began selling high-quality bullets from his basement workshop in Bayfield, Colorado. Initially focused on serving hunting and shooting enthusiasts, Barnes quickly earned a reputation for excellence in the firearms community.

In 1974, Randy and Coni Brooks purchased the company and moved it to American Fork, Utah. With a deep passion for hunting and a determination to succeed, the Brookses pushed Barnes Bullets to new heights.

In 1985, during a brown bear hunt in Alaska, Randy Brooks conceived the idea of an all-copper expanding bullet. Although initially met with skepticism, the prototype proved to be a game-changer.

This innovation led to the development of the X Bullet®, the first all-copper bullet designed to expand upon impact, which was launched in 1989. This breakthrough changed the way hunters viewed bullet construction and performance, solidifying Barnes Bullets as a leader in bullet innovation.

Today, Barnes Bullets is known worldwide for its precision, reliability, and cutting-edge technology.

Their range of copper bullets, including the Tipped Triple-Shock X (TTSX) and VOR-TX ammunition, is highly regarded by hunters and shooters for consistent accuracy and devastating on-game performance.

Barnes Bullets remains dedicated to advancing bullet technology, ensuring their products meet the needs of both professionals and enthusiasts alike.

Unique Barnes Bullets Features

All-Copper Construction
Barnes Bullets are known for their all-copper design, which eliminates the risk of lead contamination, offers superior weight retention, and ensures deep penetration on impact.

Tipped Triple-Shock X (TTSX) Technology
The TTSX bullets feature a polymer tip that enhances ballistics and improves long-range accuracy, while also ensuring rapid expansion upon impact for maximum energy transfer.

Long-Range X (LRX) Bullets
Designed specifically for long-range shooting, LRX bullets offer higher ballistic coefficients, flatter trajectories, and extended range, making them ideal for precision shooting and hunting at greater distances.

Controlled Expansion
Barnes Bullets are engineered for controlled expansion, ensuring that they expand reliably while retaining their weight, resulting in deep, consistent wound channels and effective terminal performance.

Deep Grooves for Reduced Pressure
Many Barnes bullets feature deep, precision-cut grooves along the shank, which reduce pressure and enhance accuracy, while also minimizing barrel fouling for easier cleaning.

Environmentally Friendly
The all-copper design of Barnes Bullets makes them environmentally friendly, as they do not contain lead, reducing the impact on wildlife and the environment.

Versatile Performance
Barnes bullets are designed for versatile performance across a range of calibers and game types, making them suitable for everything from varmint hunting to big game pursuits.

High-Velocity Capabilities
Barnes Bullets are built to withstand high velocities without sacrificing performance, making them ideal for modern high-speed rifles and magnum calibers.
